The third novel by award-winning playwright and actor Eric Bogosian,
Perforated
Heart is a meditative and lacerating portrait of a writer who has
grown from a callow young man to an aging literary lion.
Drawing on his own experiences and observations in the vortex of New York’s
downtown underground arts scene in the ’70s and ’80s, Bogosian brilliantly traces the
evolution of an artist and makes a powerful commentary on the dynamic between creativity and commerce,
the
psychological cost of ambition and fame, and the self-flagellating
temperament of the artistic ego.
